Friuli Venezia Giulia: the charm and the richness of a border region

The Friuli Venezia Giulia region borders Austria in the north and Slovenia in the east: this long, close contact with foreigh countries and traditions has for centuries influenced this amazing land.

The Lombards, for instance, entered Italy in the 6th century and CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI became their first capital city full of stunning artistic works of art: today Cividale is a Unesco World Heritage site.

Not too far from Cividale we can visit the extraordinary site of AQUILEIA, with its stunning roman and medieval remains; then we’ll reach the Adriatic sea to visit GRADO with its long golden beaches and its stunning early-christian churches, very well preserved.

Traditional dishes and exquisite wines will make you feel relaxed and satisfied with this rich region whose elegant main city, TRIESTE is well worth a visit!
